Bitcasa App for Windows 8!

Microsoft recently released their new Windows 8 operating system to the public.  Windows 8 relies heavily on the new “Metro-style” interface and the corresponding Windows App Store.

In conjunction with this release, Bitcasa is excited to announce the launch of our Windows 8 app!  The app supports standard Windows (for desktop and laptop computers).  A version with RT support (for tablets) is awaiting approval in the Windows App Store.

What we’ve built is an innovative and unique experience for accessing all your content you have stored with Bitcasa.  This is very similar to the focus of our iOS and Android apps, coming in a few weeks.

What the App Does

The Bitcasa app goes well beyond just simple access to your folders and files.  The app delivers a rich experience around listening to your music albums, watching videos, viewing and sharing photos, and reading your documents.

How to Get the App

Access the Bitcasa app here, or visit the Windows App Store in Wondows 8 and search for “Bitcasa”.  Click “install” and the app will download to your new Windows 8 start menu for easy access.

The app is totally free, so try it out today.  We’d love to hear your feedback, and if you love it as much as we do, feel free to leave a rating and review.  We’d love to hear your thoughts and will continue to make the app even better.

Thanks to all our loyal Bitcasa users, and remember, stay infinite my friends.

- Luke, Product Manager @ Bitcasa

Awesome work! It would be good for it to show up as a file chooser target too. Are there any plans for a Windows Phone app too?

    Hey Sergey -

We just had an update to the app (with Windows RT support) approved by Microsoft a few hours ago. It is now not showing up in the store for us either. Perhaps this is just temporary while the new version gets into the store. We’ll keep following up and tracking this and will let you know. -Luke

in depth information you offer. It’s good to come across a blog every once in a while that isn’t the same unwanted
rehashed material. Fantastic read! I’ve saved your site and I’m including your RSS feeds to my
    Google account.
